Chioma | Coach Chi – Speaker, Educator & Family Expert

Chioma Fanawopo is an award-winning families expert, social impact leader, speaker, and facilitator with over 20 years of experience supporting families, communities, and the systems that hold them together. A parent and teen coach, she is passionate about helping parents break cycles and raise emotionally healthy, resilient children and building communities where people genuinely thrive.

The Journey

Her journey began as an educator/ youth minister, a calling that set the foundation for a career rooted in people, purpose, and possibility. She went on to spend seven years working in education, developing a deep understanding of how learning environments shape young people and the families behind them. That ground-level experience has never left her, it remains the heartbeat of everything she does.

Across charities, public services, and the private sector, Chioma has worked at the intersection of social impact, social value, and community development from supporting families in crisis to creating pathways for young people through apprenticeships and employment. Her work is always about legacy: the kind built quietly, person by person, family by family.

Transforming Communities

In 2024, she founded Transforming Communities, a platform dedicated to equipping parents and teenagers. At its heart is Purposeful Parenting in the Digital Age, a programme and annual summit supporting families to connect and lead in today's complex world. The next summit takes place in June 2026.

Speaking & Writing

As a TEDx speaker, Chioma's talk Parenting as Leadership reframes the home as the most consequential leadership space any of us will enter. She is now writing her book of the same name, “Parenting as Leadership” set to become an essential resource for parents ready to lead with intention and purpose.

Recognition

Recognised as one of Enginuity's 365 Faces of STEM, Chioma champions the importance of diverse voices in shaping the future. A contributor to Keep the Faith magazine and a mentor to many, she brings the same authenticity to every platform she stands on. As a mother of two sons, aged 21 and 14, she lives the work she speaks about, every single day.

“Strong families build strong communities, and raising the next generation with empathy, resilience, and purpose is the most important leadership work of our time.”
